Lectors proclaim the Word of God, share parish announcements, and lead the prayers of the faithful. A lector should have a deep respect for Sacred Scripture, be serious about the practice of their faith, and be at ease speaking before a large group of people. If you choose to be a lector at St. Joseph you will be assigned to a Mass based on your preferred Mass time and weekend availability.
Eucharistic Ministers
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) serve the community by distributing Holy Communion to the assembly during the celebration of Mass. Any Confirmed practicing Catholic who loves the Eucharist can serve. As a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph, you will be assigned based your preferred Mass time and weekend availability.
Ushers
Ushers greet those attending weekend Masses, help them get seated, collect the offering, pass out bulletins, and deal with special situations which might occur during Mass. Ushers are often the first point of contact for visitors, so personal warmth and a hospitable spirit are important. Ushers at St. Joseph typically work in pairs that are scheduled together.
Music Ministers
Music ministers help enhance the assembly’s sung prayer. Music is a vital part of Masses here at St. Joseph, and we have a variety of groups and individuals as musicians or song leaders who provide this service. Our music ministers are also available for funerals or other special liturgies.
